Bears 2018 schedule by the numbers

Take a unique look at the Bears' 2018 regular-season schedule by the numbers, with items about streaks, stretches, trends and other interesting nuggets:

4: Numbers of consecutive wins by the Bears against AFC opponents. They swept the AFC North last season, beating the Steelers and Ravens in overtime and registering 26- and 17-point victories over the Bengals and Browns, respectively. This season the Bears will play all four of their AFC East foes on four straight Sundays, visiting the Dolphins Oct. 14, hosting the Patriots Oct. 21 and Jets Oct. 28 and visiting the Bills Nov. 4.

5: Number of times the Bears have played their season opener in prime time. They beat the Giants 34-19 in Chicago in 1987 and the Cowboys 22-6 in Chicago in 1996 and lost to the Packers 38-24 in Green Bay in 1997 on Monday Night Football. They also defeated the Colts 29-13 in Indianapolis in 2008 and lost to the Packers 21-15 in Green Bay in 2009 on Sunday Night Football. The Bears open the 2018 season against the Packers at Lambeau Field Sept. 9 on Sunday Night Football. The Bears will play their first two games of the season in prime time this year for the first time in franchise history.

11: Days between the two Bears-Lions games this season, Nov. 11 at Soldier Field and Nov. 22 at Ford Field in Detroit. The Bears are playing an opponent twice in three weeks for the first time since 2012 when they faced the Vikings in Weeks 12 and 14.

13: Number of consecutive seasons the Bears will have played the Packers in a prime-time game. Since 2006, the teams have met six times on Sunday Night Football, three times on Monday Night Football and three times on Thursday Night Football. The Bears will play the Packers in Green Bay in prime time this year for the eighth straight year.

16: Years since the Bears last played a regular-season game in Buffalo. Their road contest against the Bills in 2008 was played in Toronto, a game won by Chicago 22-19. The Bears will play in Buffalo for the first time since Sept. 29, 2002 when they lost 33-27 in overtime.

32: Number of times the Bears have opened the season against the Packers. The Bears are 17-13-2 in those games, losing the last two 21-15 in 2009 and 31-23 in 2015. The Bears last beat the Packers in a season opener in 2006 when they blanked Green Bay 26-0 in what was the only home shutout in quarterback Brett Favre's career with the Packers.

34: Number of games the Bears have played on Thanksgiving. They will make their first appearance on turkey day this season in Detroit since 2015 when they beat the Packers 17-13 in Green Bay. The Bears are 17-15-2 all-time on Thanksgiving, including 8-8 versus the Lions. The Bears first played on Thanksgiving in their first year of existence. Then known as the Decatur Staleys, they defeated the Chicago Tigers in a road game at Wrigley Field 6-0 on Nov. 25, 1920.
